Objectives:
At Groundwork Richmond, we are dedicated to creating a healthier, greener, and more sustainable community. Our key objectives include: 🌳 Expanding Richmond’s Tree Canopy – Through our Urban Greening Program, we work to increase tree coverage, providing cleaner air, cooler streets, and a more vibrant environment. 🌿 Empowering Youth Through Education – Our Green Team Program offers outdoor learning experiences, career training, and hands-on environmental education for Richmond youth. 💨 Monitoring & Educating on Air Quality – Through our Air Rangers Program, we track air pollution levels and educate the community on its impact and solutions for cleaner air. 🌱 Building Community-Led Stewardship – Our Adopt-a-Tree Program empowers residents to take an active role in caring for Richmond’s urban canopy and improving their local environment. 🏞 Revitalizing Vacant Land – We transform underutilized and abandoned spaces into areas for conservation, recreation, and economic development. 🤝 Fostering Collaboration – We bring together businesses, government agencies, nonprofits, and local communities to drive meaningful Environmental Improvement Projects. 🎓 Creating Pathways – We provide youth with access to STEAM-related (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math) projects, internships, job opportunities, and career & college readiness programs.
