Groundwork Richmond (GWR) is seeking enthusiastic and committed individuals with a variety
of skill sets to join GWR as members of its board.
GWR has devoted over 12 years to community service by improving the local environment
through its various programs. Throughout the years, GWR has developed urban forestry
projects planting more than 2500 trees in the community, a youth leadership development
program, the Green Team and urban greening projects including collaboration with Friends of the
Richmond Greenway (FORG) in building Unity Park a $5 million dollar City of Richmond park.
As part of our continual effort to revitalize GWR, the Board of Directors is looking to recruit a
considerable number of new board members by the end of the coming fiscal year (September 30).
For that reason, GWR is looking for bilingual (Spanish/English) and other board nominees who are
knowledgeable in one or several of the following areas:
• Finance; Marketing and Fundraising (network of donor prospects).
• Law (employment law, nonprofit law, copyright and/or contract law).
• Mediation/ Arbitration.
• Land use and/or facilities management; and
• Leadership in other organizations important to GWR.
GWR would like you to lend your talents and experience and to be actively engaged and involved
with GWR. Our Board is responsible for setting the vision, ensuring that GWR is effectively
managed, financially solvent, and that staff are supported by strong board leadership.
