Ben Kellman- Treasurer A Bay Area native, Ben Kellman has lived in Richmond for over 20 years. A construction industry professional, he has worked on over a dozen civic and infrastructure projects in Richmond as a consultant and contractor. His firm provides owner’s representation, project management, and construction management services, with a focus on community-oriented building projects. He enjoys collaborating with Groundwork Richmond on its mission. Nancy Baer - Founding Member Jo Sorrentino - Member I believe that expanding Richmond’s tree canopy is not only about improving the environment but also about addressing inequities in air quality, climate resilience, and community health. My experience cultivating partnerships, securing grants, and engaging diverse stakeholders positions me to advance Groundwork Richmond’s vision of community-driven change. |

Join Our Board of Directors! Are you passionate about environmental justice, community service, and leadership? Groundwork Richmond (GWR) is seeking dedicated and skilled individuals to join our Board of Directors and help shape the future of our work!
For over 15 years, GWR has been transforming Richmond’s urban landscape—planting over 2,500 trees, mentoring youth through our Green Team program, and co-creating spaces like Unity Park, a $5 million community park in partnership with Friends of the Richmond Greenway (FORG).
Now, we’re looking for enthusiastic leaders to help us continue this momentum!
We’re Seeking Board Members with Expertise In:
- Finance, marketing, and fundraising (including donor networks)
- Law (employment, nonprofit, copyright, or contract law)
- Mediation and arbitration
- Land use and facilities management
- Leadership experience in organizations relevant to GWR’s mission
- Bilingual candidates (Spanish/English) are highly encouraged!
