Adopt-A-Tree Program

Groundwork Richmond is providing street trees for your home!

Groundwork Richmond is working to increase the urban tree canopy in marginalized communities in Richmond include: Santa Fe, Coronado, and Iron Triangle neighborhoods with the help of residents and community partners.

Together we have planted hundreds of trees. Residents actively take part in the watering and care of the trees, as well as benefit from the beauty of a tree right in front of their homes. Groundwork Richmond offers support in tree plantings and after-care assistance.

  • Clean the air of particulate matter- this benefits sensitive populations like children, the elderly, & residents with asthma.
  • Reduce noise, slow traffic, & encourage outdoor activity
  • Provide a home for wildlife
  • Increase property values by 15% or more
  • Help make our city safer and more beautiful!
To receive your trees, do your part by:
  • Submitting an online Tree Adoption Application in Spanish or English
    • pssst!  You'll need to Know Your Neighborhood
  • OR mailing a physical Adopt-A-Tree Application (Bilingual) to 249A Tewksbury Ave, Richmond, CA. You can also email a scanned copy of this form to [email protected]
  • Watering weekly for the first 3 years and twice a week when it’s hot.
