Mission Statement:

The mission of Groundwork Richmond is to bring about the sustained regeneration, improvement and management of the physical environment by developing community-based partnerships which empower people, businesses and organizations to promote environmental, economic and social well-being.
Objectives:
  • Increase the tree canopy in Richmond through our Urban Greening Program
  • Provide outdoor educational opportunities to Richmond youth through our Green Team Program
  • Monitor air quality and educate the community on findings through out Air Rangers Program 
  • Increase the capacity of communities to improve and care for their local environment through our Adopt-a-Tree program
  • Reclaim vacant and derelict lands for conservation, recreation, and economic development
  • Engage business, government, non-profits and communities to work together in Environmental Improvement Projects 
  • Alleviating poverty by providing opportunities for youth to engage in science, technology, engineering, art, and math (STEAM) related projects, internships, job opportunities and career & college track programs
