Sarah Calderon - Executive Director
Sarah Calderon is a nonprofit administrator specializing in conflict resolution, mediation, facilitation, human resources, program and fund development, business administration and business management.
Over the last twenty-five years she has worked as a private consultant, the Executive Director of the Berkeley Dispute Resolution Service and the Executive Director of Interactive Parenting Media, producer of Childhood Matters and Nuestros Niños radio shows.

Jennifer Fong - Education Coordinator
With a background in environmental organizing, workshop facilitation, and youth education, Jen is excited to join the Groundwork family.
In 2013, Jen received a B.A. in Humanities and the Environment from San Francisco State University, where she developed an interest for communicating social and environmental issues in ways that are meaningful and inspire collective action. Working as a Peacemaker Trainer at Soul Shoppe, Jen trained elementary school students how to be compassionate conflict resolution managers that help their peers solve problems. This experience gave Jen the courage to follow her dreams in pursuing a career in youth development.

Matt Holmes - Deputy Director
Matt has worked through the K-12 education spectrum in Bay Area and Central Valley Communities. He obtained his BA from UC Davis in Pre-Industrial European History, worked as a classroom teacher in SF Unified School District and eventually graduated from SF State University with a Masters in U.S. History/Amer. West.
In 2009 he accepted a position as a park ranger with four Contra Costa County National Park Service units. He has now joined GWR and supports the Executive Director by developing strategic partnerships and growing/ maintaining Groundwork's organizational infrastructure. He also ensures that education & youth development programs are student-centered, providing our youth with relevant experience and the necessary knowledge to achieve their college, career and civic goals.

Lorenzo Plazola Jr. - Program Manager
With a background in radio broadcasting, he previously worked as the Associate Producer for nonprofit radio program, "Childhood Matters" - engineering live broadcasts, producing content, & reaching out to the community. He also received a bachelor's degree in Radio & Television from San Francisco State University in 2008.
Most recently Lorenzo completed a year of service as an AmeriCorps VISTA intern for Groundwork Richmond and has been promoted to a full time staff position as Program Manager at GWR.
